Assistantships
Graduate research assistantships are the most common form of financial assistance. Tuition is waived for students on assistantships, but fees must be paid. The tuition waiver has a value of about $3,800/year for resident students and $10,000/year for non-residents. Assistantships require 20 hours of service per week.
Fellowships
New assistantship offers may be augmented with one of several fellowships, depending upon availability of funds and student's qualifications. They include the following (stipends are paid on an annual basis):
Cooper-Sharpless Fellowship: $3,000 for MS and Ph.D. students
Farm Credit Services Fellowship: $2,000 for MS and Ph.D. students
Filley-Garey Fellowship: $2,000 for MS and Ph.D. students
