Natural Resource and Environmental Economics Program

The UNL Natural Resource and Environmental Economics major combines in-depth study of natural sciences with business, economics, law and other social sciences. Students in the program analyze benefits and costs of using natural resources and the environment for different purposes including recreation, agriculture, wildlife habitat, industry, logging, and mining. In addition, the program emphasizes the assessment of public policies regulating the use of natural resources and environmental amenities.

This major is designed for students interested in natural resource management and environmental impact analysis. With increased public awareness, environmental regulation, and the heightened news coverage of environmental issues and renewal, the opportunities in this area are expanding rapidly.
