Mission Statement

The National Agri-Marketing Association serves the food and fiber industry, focusing on our members’ professional development through providing access to solutions and opportunities in agriculture.

Chapter Goals

Goal 1: Earn Outstanding Chapter Award; place in the top three in John Deere Award.

Goal 2: Improve membership recruitment
a. Contact potential members with emails and at college department events
b. Recruit 12 new members and have a retention rate of six members

Goal 3: Increase Professional Chapter involvement
 a.    Ensure that each new member attend at least one Midlands Chapter meeting
 b.    Organize a group visit to an agricultural marketing company/organization for a tour and presentation
 c.    Provide group transportation to Midlands Chapter meetings
d.    Coordinate professional involvement in product marketing plan efforts through email correspondence, professional panels, and professional member presentations at student chapter meetings

Goal 4: Improve mentoring program participation – 90% completion by February 1st

Goal 5: Establish three fundraising activities to increase overall chapter participation in the group’s fundraising efforts

Goal 6: Improve marketing plan preparation and scheduling
a. Increase interaction with a sponsoring company
1.    Meet with a company by November 1st
2.    Increase the number of quality contacts with sponsor to at least four
 b.    Have solid rough draft of the executive summary by December 10th
 c.    Schedule four practices before National Convention in April
 d.    Make semi-finals and final round in marketing competition

Goal 7: Increase interaction with American Marketing Association (AMA) Student Chapter and other student groups, both inside and outside of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR)
a. Develop a partnership between NAMA and AMA through joint events
b. Send invitations for activities and meetings to students in journalism, business marketing, communications, and in CASNR

Goal 8: Increase community involvement
a. Participate in two community service projects each semester
b. Either donate blood or volunteer for blood drive during CASNR Week, Spring Semester
c. Participate in event for National Ag Day (March 20, 2009) and National Ag Week (March 15-21, 2009)

Goal 9: Continue “Got Work” professional development events
a. Increase professionals to six for Interview and Resume Workshop, Fall Semester
b. Maintain professionals at four to five for Discussion Panel, Spring Semester

Goal 10: Hold a social activity each semester to develop stronger relationships among members
