Admission Requirements

The high school courses and ACT/SAT exam scores required for admission into our programs (and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources) follow:

High school course requirements

  • 4 years (units) English
  • 4 years Math (one beyond second-year algebra)
  • 3 years Science, at least one with lab instruction
  • 3 years Social Studies
  • 2 years in one foreign language


To be assured admission to UNL, you must have an ACT of 20 or higher, SAT of 950 or higher, or rank in the top 50 percent of your graduating high school class.

If you do not meet the UNL admissions standards, be sure to speak with someone in the UNL Admissions Office. Students can be admitted with deficiencies, with an understanding they will complete the deficiencies within an allotted time frame. Some students also have special situations that warrant special consideration.
