Master Scholars Program in Agricultural Economics

New in Fall of 2005, the Master Scholars Program in Agricultural Economics offers you an exciting opportunity to complete both an undergraduate-- Bachelors in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, or Natural Resources and Environmental Economics -- and a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics in five years of study.  For the Master Scholars Program coursework click on the major below.

The Program

  • As early as your sophomore year, work with your advisor to determine if this is a program that fits your interests and goals.
  • Plan to complete 135 credit hours.
  • Take advantage of research and graduate program mentoring as an undergraduate.
  • Plan to engage in research -- you will receive a stipend for at least one year of research work.

Eligibility

  • Open to juniors or seniors in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, and Natural Resource and Environmental Economics (can be admitted into the program during the Sophomore year and start program during Junior year).
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on all coursework (at least 30 completed hours.)

Selection

  • Up to three juniors and three seniors will be selected annually for Master Scholars Program
  • The Selection Committee will be comprised of four Agricultural Economics faculty members
  • Successful candidates will be selected based on academic promise.
  • Applicants who are selected for the program will be announced at the annual Agricultural Scholars and Leaders Banquet each spring.
