This program is a collaborative effort of UNL Extension and the key federal and state agencies responsible for delivering programs authorized in or related to the 2008 Farm Bill. It is geared to Extension personnel, agency personnel, and agricultural and community leaders across the state who will be involved with farm bill implementation and education efforts in the coming weeks and months. The program will cover the key issues and opportunities in the new programs and policies. It will also cover the logistics and timeline for implementing the new programs and the educational needs and opportunities for collaboration between agencies and organizations in delivering farm bill education.

2008 Farm Bill Education Conference

The following presentations summarize various titles and sections of the 2008 Farm Bill and provide program details and mechanics of the new legislation as well as potential impacts of the new programs. The presentations were delivered at the 2008 Farm Bill Education Conference and serve as both an outline of the new programs as well as a working template for further education and analysis. The conference was organized by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln along with Auburn University, The University of Georgia, and Oklahoma State University. The conference was sponsored through grants from the Farm Foundation and the North Central Risk Management Education Center along with support from the Southern, Western, and Northeastern risk management education centers and the Digital Center for Risk Management Education, home of the national Ag Risk Education Library.
