This week's Market Journal:

Dr. Dee Griffin, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension feedlot veterinarian, says a sign of stress is when cattle face the morning sun and start slobbering. Dr. Griffin says it’s important to have a plan to get water and air movement to stressed cattle.
Also on the Program:
The cattle market is struggling -- Mike Briggs, Briggs Feedlot near Seward
Nebraska is still a Bovine Tuberculosis-free state for the time being -- Dr. David Smith, UNL Extension dairy and beef veterinarian
Check soybean seedlings for disease -- Loren Giesler, UNL Extension plant pathologist
Weather -- Al Dutcher, Nebraska State Climatologist

On the next Market Journal:  (July 3, 2009) Ron Plain will join us with his analysis of the hog markets. We’ll look at the question of dead animal disposal and we will continue our discussion on heat stress when Rick Rasby will join us to discuss strategies with cow-calf pairs.
